There are a couple of upcoming group exhibitions, 3 in fact so scrap the 'couple'. I have been meaning to send some work over to the Rochester Contemporary Art Center for years now. I always see the call-out for artwork donations and like the size restriction/wonder what I would make on such a small scale (all artworks are to be 6 x 6"). I made 4 very pleasing little pastel-coloured gouache paintings, pictured below.

The next exhibition I was approached for. It's a Stoke-based Mental Health Week exhibition, the theme of which is Surviving or Thriving? This will be held at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery in Hanley, exact dates to be confirmed but definitely running over this year's Mental Health Week in May (8th - 14th May).

It's lovely to have been asked to take part, I really love Stoke-on-Trent, the people, the architecture, the history - great place.

The final exhibition is the Staffordshire Moorlands Open, the only Open I'll submit works to because they are so inclusive (no sad 'not selected' letters arriving in the post!). I'm increasingly drawn to this type of exhibition becaue I like that aspect (I'm a bit fragile these days I think), I really like that everyone's artwork is welcome. The exhibition was really good last year, a genuinely interesting mix of art styles and techniques and a salon-style hang. They hold this exhibition at the wonderful Nicholson Institute in Leek, I'll hunt my photos out from last year, the building is a true gem!
